Delete Touch Grade Account and Data

You can delete your data and keep your account, or delete both. For consequences of each action read below.

Deleting your data or your Touch Grade account does not affect your Touch Grade subscription. You must manually cancel or pause your subscription by logging into your App Store on iOS or Play Store on Android, depending where you purchased the subscription.

What data does Touch Grade store on you?

  1. The email address you used to register for the Touch Grade account
  2. Your Touch Grade user id
  3. The encryption key used to encrypt your database files and image files
If you opted-in to automatically, or manually, backup your data to a cloud storage server in app settings, Touch Grade also stores the following information:

  1. Your encrypted database file
  2. The database file stores all class and student data
    • Classes
    • Evaluations and answer keys
    • Student names and numbers
    • Student grades
  3. Encrypted images of your scans
  4. The physical location of the cloud storage server you selected when you opted-in to data backups, for example, Toronto, Canada
    • You can change to a new cloud storage location in app settings. You can then manually delete your data from the original cloud storage location after you transfer it to a new location.

How to delete your data?

An online system is being developed to help you delete your data independently, however in the meantime you can send an email to smartspaceapplications@gmail.com requesting to delete your data. The request email must come from an email address associated with a Touch Grade account. Please title your email, "Delete Data Request".
We will respond to your email to confirm with you that you actually intend to delete your account.

Deleting your data cannot be undone.

What will be deleted when you request to delete your data?

  1. The encrypted database file will be deleted from the cloud storage server
  2. Encrypted scan images will be deleted from the cloud storage server
Your data encryption key will be preserved because it is associated with your account. You can delete the data encryption key by deleting your account.

What will be deleted when you request to delete your account?

  1. Your email address and your user id
  2. Your data encryption key. Deleting this key will prevent you from opening any database files, or scanned image files, which were previously encrypted with this key. This cannot be undone. Touch Grade cannot recover your deleted encryption key.

How to delete both your account and your data?

Send an email to smartspaceapplications@gmail.com requesting to delete both your account and your data. The email must come from an email address associated with a Touch Grade account. Please title your email, "Delete Account and Data Request". We will respond to your email to confirm with you that you actually intend to delete your account and data.

What happens to your Touch Grade subscription when you delete your account or your data?

Deleting your data or your Touch Grade account does not affect your Touch Grade subscription. Your subscription will remain in the state you left it in. Meaning it will auto-renew if you have not paused or cancelled it. You must pause or cancel your subscription through the Android Play Store or the iOS App Store, depending on where you purchased it.

It is your responsibility to administer and manage your Touch Grade subscription through the Play or App stores independently of deleting your data or your Touch Grade account. Your subscription will not be automatically paused or cancelled when you delete your data or Touch Grade account, you must pause or cancel your subscription independently by going to the Play or App stores.
